During recent years, numerous extensions, new buildings and a large number of development projects have made Gut Großlappen wastewater treatment works one of the most modern facilities in Europe. The works is equipped with one mechanical and two biological stages. Most recently, a new digester facility was built, with four conical tanks, each with a capacity of 14,500 cubic meters. It was commissioned in 2008.

During the course of the modernisation and extension work between 2003 and 2008, ERHARD delivered more than 1,000 valves, including knife gate valves, butterfly valves, gate valves and check valves with nominal diameters between DN50 and 1800. ERHARD valves are installed in all kinds of different areas of the wastewater treatment works, among other places, in the digester facility and in the sand filtration.
